Since about 2016, I got interested in making wooden shields for SCA armored combat. Below, you will find images and descriptions of some of the various types I have made over this time.

20240212 - Michael Redbeard - Oval 22 x 34 with integral handle. Added some additional layers to the long edges for strength. 6.34#.
20240105 - Erik Martel - Peanut #1. 20x36 with hourglass integral grip (1" at center). 6.5" boss cut. 5.73#.
20231218 - Argyle of Orkney - Heater #9. 24 x 34 pressed heater shield with heraldry and leather hardware. 5.73 pounds without hardware attached.
20231116 - Sigmund Nacht - Tower #7 - 24 x 40 pressed tower shield with basic heraldry and leather hardware. Sigmund helped with the build.
20231110 - Piers Simmons - Tower #6 - 24 x 40 pressed tower shield with heraldry.
20231102 - Xenos Theodrikes - Oval #3 - 24 x 36 oval center grip shield with integral handle. Prize for the MGT 2023 Armatura Champion. Approximately 6lbs as shown.
20231020 - Saxus of Arunshire - Heater #8 - 24 x 36 pressed heater with heraldry and leather hardware. Approximately 10lbs with hardware.
20230904 - Barthelemy of Illyria - Oval #1 & #2 - 22 x 34 oval shields with integral handle. About 5.5lbs each.
20230602 - Mongo Blackheart - Tourney Kite #4 and Buckler #7 - 24 x 36 pressed center grip tourney kite shield and 16" buckler. Boss provided by Mongo.

20230412 - Valdrikr Albriktsson and Wolfram Alpha - Tower #4 and #5 - 24 x 40 pressed tower shields with Meridies populace heraldry.
20220931 - Tower #1 and Scutum #1 - 2022 MGT Armatura Prizes, a 24 x 48 pressed tower shield and a 24 x 34 pressed center grip scutum with leather boss.
